Opcharge is growing rapidly. With every new charging station, the amount of data on our data platform also grows. As a Data Engineer, you’ll ensure that this data is processed in a way that’s reliable, scalable, and future-proof. Do you have experience developing data solutions and want to help accelerate sustainable mobility? If so, we’d love to meet you.

About Opcharge

Opcharge is a fast-growing company that develops smart charging solutions for municipalities and businesses. From day one, we have been fully committed to sustainable mobility. Our ambition is clear: to accelerate the energy transition by rolling out smart and future-proof charging infrastructure.

We’re in a phase where no two days are the same. That means plenty of room for initiative, short lines of communication, and the chance to make a real impact. We believe in ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement. By the end of 2026, we’ll take the next step with a new office in the heart of Rotterdam—a milestone that aligns with our growth ambitions.

The Position

Together with engineers, data analysts, and colleagues from the business side, you’ll work on a data platform that serves as the foundation for insights and improvements within Opcharge.

You will be involved in the entire development of our data environment: from integrating new data sources to improving the way data is processed and used. You’ll also have the freedom to contribute ideas about our technical direction and the continued growth of our data architecture.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Developing and maintaining scalable and reliable data pipelines within our data platform.
  • Unlocking and integrating new data sources via APIs and system integrations.
  • Modeling data and developing data marts and datasets that serve as the foundation for reports, dashboards, and analyses.
  • Automating and improving data processes so that data is collected, processed, and made available efficiently.
  • Ensuring and improving data quality through monitoring, checks, and continuous optimization.
  • Collaborate with data analysts, engineers, and business stakeholders to translate data challenges into practical and valuable solutions.
  • Communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and make complex data issues understandable to different audiences.
  • Documenting data processes and contributing to clear procedures, standards, and a future-proof data platform.

What do you bring to the table?

  • 3 to 8 years of work experience as a data engineer
  • A degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Econometrics, or a related field
  • Experience with SQL databases and advanced SQL skills
  • Experience building and maintaining data pipelines and data warehouses.
  • Experience with machine learning is a plus
  • An analytical and problem-solving mindset
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple data engineering projects simultaneously

  • Flexible work arrangements are possible, with 3 days a week in the office
  • Work in a fast-growing, entrepreneurial organization that makes a real impact
