Why does the municipality of Tilburg choose this?
Together with the municipality of Tilburg, Opcharge has chosen charging lanterns: street lights with a built-in charging function for electric cars. This way we kill two birds with one stone: lighting and charging.
This joint choice was made because it:

provides more charging options so that residents and visitors have easier access to public charging stations;

is sustainable, a step toward a cleaner, greener city.
How does charging work?
Start loading session
- Connect the charging cable to your car and the charging lantern.
- Activate the charging session with your charging card or charging app.
- Charging has started! Your car is now charging.
Stop loading session
- End the charging session via your charging card or charging app.
- Wait for the beep, the cable will unlock automatically.
- Carefully disconnect the charging cable.

Is everyone allowed to load here?
Yes, anyone with an electric car and a valid charging pass can use the charging lantern.
What does charging cost?
Charging lamp rates are the same as our other public charging stations; you can see them on our rates page.
