Opcharge rates
The cost of charging at a public charging station depends on several factors.
On this page, we explain how our charging rates are structured.
Public charging stations
- Standard charging rate: €0.59 per kWh (incl. VAT)
- Connection rate: €0.50 per hour (incl. VAT)
Monday to Friday between 5 p.m. – 10 p.m: €0.64 per kWh (incl. VAT)
Public charging stations in Arnhem: €0.55 per kWh (incl. VAT)

Why we charge a connection fee
At Opcharge, we use a connection rate of €0.50 per hour instead of a starting rate, like many other providers. We do this to ensure that charging stations do not remain unnecessarily occupied. By charging an hourly rate instead of a starting rate, we encourage responsible charging: neat chargers pay less and charging station users are motivated to clear the pole in time. In this way, we ensure that charging poles are always available to other users, allowing everyone to charge efficiently without long waiting times.
What do you end up paying at the charging station?
At Opcharge, we have fixed charging rates, but the final cost per charging session may vary depending on the charging card you use. Some providers charge additional fees, such as starting fees, subscription fees or a surcharge per kWh. These additional costs can affect the total amount per charging session, so it’s important to know what costs a charge card entails before making a choice.
