The Dutch government has set the goal of having 1,000,000 electric vehicles (EVs) on Dutch roads by 2025. <\/span>This stated goal is ambitious, but achievable. For example, the 2020 goal was to have 200,000(PH)EVs on Dutch roads. However, this one is with <\/span>22%<\/b> exceeded since a total of 255,431 (PH) EVs were registered in 2020.<\/span><\/p>\n The goal of having 1,000,000 EVs on Dutch roads by 2025 is therefore not an unimaginable scenario<\/span>.<\/p>\n The most important factor for a successful transition is the ability to charge an EV. Current EV drivers who do not have their own driveway depend on charging stations in their neighborhood or at work. In addition, future EV drivers must have sufficient charging options for the transition to be successful. For this reason, the charging infrastructure must be significantly expanded in the coming years. <\/span><\/p>\n OPCHARGE has developed a master plan in collaboration with the municipality of Breda<\/a>, and phase 1 of that plan is now being rolled out. This involves 40 new charging stations, with a maximum charging capacity of 22 kWh, distributed throughout the municipality of Breda. <\/span><\/p>\n The growth of electric vehicles is unstoppable, especially since all automakers have launched a (fully) electric vehicle on the market. This shows that the automotive industry also believes in EVs. The need for charging will increase, and as a result, the charging infrastructure must be expanded.
