The Dutch government has set the goal of having 1,000,000 electric vehicles (EVs) on Dutch roads by 2025. <\/span>This stated goal is ambitious, but achievable. For example, the 2020 goal was to have 200,000(PH)EVs on Dutch roads. However, this has been reduced by <\/span>22%<\/b> exceeded since a total of 255,431 (PH) EVs were registered in 2020.<\/span><\/p>\n The ambition to have 1,000,000 EVs on Dutch roads by 2025 is therefore not an unthinkable scenario<\/span>.<\/p>\n The most important factor for a successful transition is being able to charge the EV. Current EV drivers with no private driveway depend on charging stations in the residential area or at work. In addition, future EV drivers must have sufficient charging opportunities for the transition to be successful. For this reason, the charging infrastructure must be significantly expanded in the coming years. <\/span><\/p>\n OPCHARGE has worked with the municipality of Breda<\/a> to develop a plan map, phase 1 of which is now being rolled out. This involves 40 new charging points, with a maximum charging capacity of 22kWh, distributed throughout the municipality of Breda. <\/span><\/p>\n The growth of electric vehicles is unstoppable, especially since all car manufacturers have launched (full) EVs. This shows that the auto industry also believes in the EV. The need to be able to charge will increase and therefore the charging infrastructure needs to be expanded.
